LVQNEP

Meursault WineGlobe

The first vintage of LVQNEP is a white Meursault les Clous. A part of the wine is aged in a WineGlobe (glass container), and the other part is aged in a traditional oak cask.

THE PROJECT

For the fermentation and the ageing of the wine, glass containers offer a great neutrality. This allows to have the wine evolve with the aromatic pollution brought by the oak wood. It also prevents any oxydation coming from the permeability of the oak cask.

By proposing bottles of wine coming from the same estate, but with two different vinification containers, the project allows to understand the influence of oak on wine, but most importantly, it allows to have a glimpse of the aromatic profile of  Chardonnay, the most sought-after white grape variety.

THE PLOT

In Burgundy, in Côte de Beaune, at the "Lieux dit" Les Clous, the soils are rich in marl and give to Meursault similar aromatic profiles to Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru. The wines are powerful, with complex and quaint aromas of spices. Our selected plot belongs to one of the greatest grape growers of the region, who manually harvests and selects thoroughly the best grapes.

THE WINEMAKER

Benjamin Beauné is a Burgundian oenologist who has worked with famous winemakers such as Arnaud Ente and Jules Desjourneys. He helps us take the right decisions to magnify the two wines in the making. Benjamin also has great experience in wine ageing in different and novel containers such as glass.

THE ALLOCATION

For the 2023 vintage, we propose an allocation of 3 bottles of Meursault les Clous aged in WineGlobe, and 3 bottles of Meursault Les Clous aged in oak wood. Bottles will be available at the end of 2024.
